Client training in Malawi

Our Social Performance Manager (SPM) Daniella has just arrived back from Malawi with a photo update about client training. Daniella worked with Chiko, the SPM in Malawi; together they were leading training on phase 1 roll out of new post-disbursement client training. This training has already been piloted in the Nkhotakota branch for about 8 months now, so this trip was spent focusing on the Dowa and Mchinji branch and seeing how they are progressing

The clients were split into groups to go through 8 modules, role play was used then it was used to see what improvements could still be made.

Here one of our Loan Officer’s is dancing with clients half way through teaching a module. Visual aids help the clients to understand, they are able to take notes and feed back. What better way to teach clients?!
…and here clients are working to form business plans.
It is really important to MicroLoan that clients understand how to manage finances in a way that suits them, as shown above, even ways such as dancing!
“We’re really glad that the loan staff were really engaged and enthusiastic, as well as the clients who enjoyed the games and activities we provided” – Daniella
