MicroLoan Foundation Shortlisted for 2011 Big Bus Challenge

We have been shortlisted for the CBS Big Bus Challenge, thanks to creative advertising designed by DLKWLowe, the award-winning global advertising agency.

CBS Outdoor challenged advertising agencies to design imaginative advertising campaigns for buses across the nation, with the winning entry gaining £200,000 worth of national advertising exposure. In the UK, bus advertising currently reaches 30 million people each week, and research has shown that 86% of people are able to spontaneously recall a bus advert[1].

The MicroLoan Foundation provides small loans, business education and personal mentoring to support impoverished rural women living in sub-Saharan Africa. The charity’s current “Pennies for Life” advertising was designed by DLKWLowe, with the campaign raising over £40,000 by lining 571,824 individual pennies on the grounds of a local school, potentially setting a new UK record.

“We have been shortlisted for the 2011 Big Bus Challenge thanks to the creative talents of DLKWLowe” commented Peter Ryan, CEO of MicroLoan Foundation. “Winning this prestigious award would enable us to reach a wide audience of potential donors and volunteers across the UK, which could have a transformative effect on our charity and in so doing, the women we support in Africa.”
