So far this year has been one of significant growth and change for the MicroLoan Foundation. We’re helping more people than ever and are working on an exciting new project to really highlight our social impact within the communities that our microfinance projects serve.
We’ve been extremely busy making sure more women than ever have access to the finance and mentoring they need to start their own successful businesses. Here are the vital figures showing exactly what impact we have made since the turn of the year.
Total number of active credit groups = 1,242
Total number of active entrepreneurs = 19,628
Number of new loans made this year = 7,674
Average loan amount per entrepreneur = £76
Total number of children supported through our entrepreneurs this year = 35,153
The figures speak for themselves. Thanks to the generous support of all of our donors, we are delivering real social change to the very poorest of communities.
Alongside the figures, we are also starting to get really under the skin of MicroLoan’s social impact. Our volunteer, Daniella Hawkins, has immersed herself into the very communities we help in Kasungu. Over the next few months she will be devising and implementing a pilot scheme to track our social impact. You can follow her blog here.
