Win with women: investing in gender smart financial products and services

MicroLoan Foundation will be hosting a digital panel discussion on the gender-responsive financial products and services as a way to women’s financial empowerment and inclusivity.

We know that in many developing societies, social and cultural norms have implications on the most basic aspects of women’s self-determination, dignity and freedom.

They define how women earn a living and maintain control over resources.

It is estimated that 742 million women in the poorest parts of the world have no access to financial services with 246 million having bank accounts but not using them. In this panel, we will discuss solutions and question why this might be the case.

As society’s primary caregivers, many women undertake most domestic responsibilities, they are more likely to adopt cost-conscious and lower-risk strategies when it comes to financial management.

This begs the question: Do financial products and services with a one-size-fits-all approach overlook the needs of rural women?

The event is free to attend but if you wish to make a donation, your money will provide financial literacy and business training for women living in poverty.
